How it works
- Hold the Foundations certificate. Give its number when you submit.
- We email you a real passage from one of the four priority areas: bank, hospital, government office, college. Passages change every round.
- You have 14 days. Submit the Easy Read version with a picture brief for each idea, as Word or PDF.
- The Lab marks it against the table below and returns written feedback within 10 working days. You may revise once.
- Three members of the Manbhavan Easy Read Review Panel test it in a session. Each is paid for the session. The session record is kept with your submission.
- Passed: you receive the Practitioner certificate, numbered and verifiable, and may be listed on this site. Not passed: you receive the panel’s comments and may submit a new passage in the next round.
What we mark

| One idea per sentence | Every sentence carries one idea; no sentence joins two actions. |
| Everyday words | Tier 1 words pass the kitchen table test; any hard word that must stay is explained once. |
| Active voice | Subject, verb, object; the reader always knows who does what. |
| Picture left of every idea | A literal picture brief or picture for each idea, placed left. |
| Numbers as figures | “3 days”, not “three days”; dates written the same way throughout. |
| Layout | 16 pt print or 18 px web, left aligned, ragged right, 1.5 spacing, no all-capitals, no italics. |
| Order | What the reader must do comes first; the sequence follows real life. |
| Nothing lost | The who, what, where and when of the original are all there. Legal meaning unchanged. |
| Hindi version (optional) | Written fresh, not machine-translated; same rules. |
| Panel result | 3 Manbhavan validators explain the document in their own words. 2 of 3 must get every key point. |
The first round opens with the workshop in the first week of December 2026.
Fee
₹2,500 per passage, including one revision. ₹1,500 is your share of a Manbhavan panel session: 3 validators at ₹1,000 and a facilitator at ₹1,500 cost ₹4,500, and one session checks 3 passages. ₹1,000 pays for the Lab’s marking and written feedback. If the panel cannot check your passage within 30 days of submission, the full fee is returned.
